Meet the Team
Karl Kakadelis
Karl was born and raised in Danbury, Connecticut. He went on to graduate from Colorado State University with a degree in business and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to begin a career in commercial real estate. A spiritual renewal took place in Karl's life while in Atlanta and he would never be the same. He was trained at Grace Ministries International and went to help establish a Grace Ministries office in the Washington, D.C. area in 1987. He is now the Executive Director of Grace Ministries.
Karl was ordained in 1990 and has received further education from Western Theological Seminary, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He and his wife Tracy were married in 1986, have three children and live in Warrenton, VA
Edwina Rose
Edwina is native of Natchez, Mississippi. She initially came to Grace Ministries to attend a book study called Walking in the Will of God. She recognized that issues in her past were creating a barrier to walking in the life of freedom and wholeness that Jesus gives us.
She went on to complete True Life Basic and Advanced Discipleship Counseling Training. Edwina joined the staff of Grace Ministries as a counselor in 2012. Presently, Edwina is pursuing a degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Christian Counseling through Liberty University.
Edwina and her husband, Dave, have two young adult daughters and live in Gainesville, Virginia.
John Stroud
John grew up in South Mississippi and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, where his involvement with Campus Crusade played a pivotal role in his spiritual journey. Encouraged by his campus director, John sought counseling at SCOPE Ministries, marking the beginning of his deep dive into the message of grace. He later attended Columbia International Seminary, during which he and his wife, Garvisa, were sponsored to attend a Grace Ministries Conference—an experience that further shaped their understanding of grace.
For seven years, John and Garvisa lived and worked as bi-vocational missionaries in Indonesia. Upon returning to Northern Virginia, John reconnected with Grace Ministries through his friendship with JR Davison. After completing the Grace Life Institute, he served as Associate Pastor at a local church for over a decade before joining the staff of Grace Ministries in 2018.
Now based in Lynchburg, VA, John offers both online and in-person counseling, manages the ministry’s website, and collaborates with Karl Kakadelis on special projects. The Strouds have a labradoodle named Luna Belle, and their adult son, Brian, lives in Manassas, VA.
Sherry Marchand
Sherry is a counselor and certified peer facilitator, serving on staff with Grace Ministries and leading Heartfelt relationship trauma and support groups. Sherry’s passion is to share how God is present in life’s struggles and how we can trust Him through it all.
The oldest of four girls, she was raised in California, but Hawaii holds a special place in her heart, as she had the blessing of living there with her husband, Brian, during his service in the Coast Guard. They now live in Front Royal, Virginia. For over 20 years, Sherry and Brian have worked side by side in their own business, with Sherry traveling and teaching seminars throughout that time.
Married for over 35 years, Sherry and Brian are best friends who have walked through life’s hardships together. Through traumatic circumstances, they’ve experienced God’s faithfulness and the restoration of their marriage.
Sherry is also a proud mother of two adult children — Travis, who lives in Alaska, and Laura and her husband Kyle, who live in Woodbridge, VA, where Kyle serves as an associate pastor at Grace Baptist Church — and one amazing French Bulldog, Murphy. Recently, Sherry embraced her newest role as a grandmother to Laura and Kyle’s son, Levi James, bringing even more joy to her life.
Ward Sanford
Ward came to Grace Ministries after 30 years of a Christian life that seemed to have run out of steam, and to focus only on daily performance. After attending a Grace Ministries conference in 2006 and having a personal renewal experience in 2007, Ward signed up for Grace Ministries' two institute training classes. Then after training and acting as a Stephen Minister in 2010-2011, he came on as a counselor with Grace Ministries in 2012. Beyond his personal degrees, Ward has completed Advanced Discipleship Counseling Training. Ward is also the author of the historical novel series Cry for Jerusalem.
Ward has been married to his wife for over 30 years with two grown sons. He and his wife attend Fairfax Community Church and have both been active in the Northern Virginia Tres Dias community. Ward is also employed as a senior scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey in Reston.
Lorilee Sheviak
Lorilee came to Grace Ministries through her local church, Grace Baptist Church in Woodbridge, Virginia. Her heart's desire was to walk alongside and counsel others where she lived and went to church.
Beyond her degree in accounting, Lorilee has received lay counseling training and has completed Advanced Discipleship Counseling Training with Grace Ministries. During this training, God used His truth to solidify what it means to be a child of God and to have a relationship with Him. Lorilee has been a valued staff member at Grace Ministries since 2012.
Lorilee and her husband, Michael, have been married for 26 years and have two teenage children
Robyn Wright
Robyn has had a heart for the work of Grace Ministries for more than twenty years and attributes the transformations in her life to the truths she learned there. She went through the one-on-one counseling in 2001 and the True Life Training and Advanced Training in 2008. Robyn loves sharing this life-changing truth of grace and identity in Christ with others. As the Ministry Coordinator for Grace Ministries, Robyn now gets to enjoy connecting other people to the ministry that impacted her life.
Originally from SC, Robyn has lived in the Richmond, VA area since 2004 and works full time as a Financial Analyst. She is the mother of four young adult sons and is pleased that they all made it to adulthood in one piece (including her)!
