“I really didn’t know what to do!”
Tanti was struggling. Growing up in Indonesia, she had believed that, “Nobody wants me.” She had experienced rape, her parent’s divorce and made multiple suicide attempts.
“I never knew who I was and I was so afraid of getting hurt.”
Tanti came to Grace Ministries after the prodding of her ex-husband. He had come to Grace Ministries himself as a result of a series of decisions that Tanti had made that had devastated their marriage.
“We divorced because of what I did… I felt really guilty and ashamed... I didn’t want to get out of bed.”
Tanti met with one of the women on staff at Grace Ministries. But her counseling experience was unique because even though Tanti lived locally, her counseling took place over the Internet using Skype. In fact, she had never met her counselor in person until she came in to our office to tell us her story.
“Counseling online has been very flexible and convenient. Even though I live locally, I didn’t have to travel…
and I could feel God’s presence, even on Skype!”
Tanti is now beginning to experience joy, freedom and level of confidence she had never had before.
“I never knew that having a relationship with God could be so simple… it all used to sound so complicated.”
“My counselor explains things that make it easy for me to understand… she explained that being a Christian
is more than just going from ‘bad’ to ‘good’, but going from ‘death’ to ‘life.’”
“I know I’m still growing, but this is great… I have so much peace and calm. I can feel His love…
it’s like an ocean! I no longer have to depend on myself or anyone else for my peace.”
Online counseling has opened up a whole new avenue of opportunities for Grace Ministries… to impact the lives of people locally and around the world.
Your prayer and financial support are essential in making help like this available.
In 2016 we have seen God do some incredible things;
Making all our counseling forms and discipleship materials available online.
Counseling hundreds of hours with men and women in person and online.
Preparing for our first deaf student to participate in the True Life Institute beginning in February of next year.
Making counseling, teaching and training available on site in Bahrain and Israel.
Developing relationships with 2 new churches on opposite sides of the Washington, DC beltway.
And… preparing to enter into our 30th year of ministry!
Would you prayerfully consider making a one-time and/or monthly recurring gift?
We especially have a need for monthly donors. This really allows us to remain focused on our mission throughout the year. Your special one-time gift (no matter the amount) will help us to finish 2016 and enter 2017, our 30th year, financially strong.
After telling us her story, Tanti thought out loud, “I wonder if my brother in Indonesia could talk to someone from Grace Ministries?” The answer is, “Absolutely!”
